Still, I was happy today to be able to sit down and put to canvas a painting I've had in my head for awhile. Third in the series following these two. Remember these?
"And All the Stars Wept With Her"
Swimming the Stars
Well here's the finale, and I am pretty happy with the way she turned out. Funny, without the wings she looks like I picture my female lead from Godspeed in my head...
"Keeper of Starlight"
Usually I am inspired to paint after I write a poem, this one, the poem will follow.
Hope you are all having a very happy Tuesday. Squeeze ever moment of peace and joy you can out of every last second of it.
xoxo

How absolutely lovely, Bru! You know, with enhanced ebooks, you'll soon be able to publish a book of poems with these paintings as illustrations. I hope you'll consider doing them as a collection. The "swimming with the stars" one might make a wonderful cover image. So would the new one. You have a unique vision and your palette is soothing and enticing at the same time.
ReplyDeleteshe's lovely. i'm thinking she's a fairy? i love fairies.
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne, you are too kind! What a cool idea, to put the paintings and the poetry together in an enhanced ebook, I will have to keep that in mind! :~) xoxo
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle! Pixie was what I was thinking, like Tinkerbell but you could call her a fairy, that would work too I suppose. Interesting I just Googled trying to find the actual difference between fairies and pixies and am reading pixies have Celtic roots- and they usually didn't have wings. But Tinkerbell did. Huh. Who knew all this stuff could get so complicated LOL. Either way, glad you like her! :~)
LOVELY!!!! I really like your work.
ReplyDeleteI love them! The pixie is so cute, her wings are amazing.
ReplyDeleteYour artwork has such a beautiful innocence to them, Bru. They're delightful!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Laura, Carolyn and Lydia. You guys (er, gals) are the best! <3 <3 <3
